Our Story
When you think back to time spent with your grandparents or parents, your mind becomes filled with memories. For some it may be fond memories of vacations, or perhaps memorable family gatherings. For me there is always one predominant memory: gardening. From when I could walk, I cannot remember a time when gardening was not part of my life. Little did I know that the basic tasks such as helping my mom plant new flowers, raking out the beds, and weeding, sparked a flame in me that has turned into a passion and lifelong interest. As I grew older this passion became something much deeper.
My expansion of knowledge in soil biology and its related disciplines shifted my focus, and I realized my interests can serve a much larger meaning. As our world hurtles towards an estimated 9.7 billion people by 2050, we are facing an ever-increasing load on our food and manufacturing systems, and with this has come an increasing concern with our environmental impacts. Despite this looming statistic, hope is not lost. Overwhelming research is pointing to regenerative agriculture being a vital part of this solution. Its methods and principles promote long term sustainability by protecting our fresh water sources, increases biodiversity, ethically raising livestock, and lowering our GHG emissions. Bringing a service to communities that provides education on the importance of healthy soil and help them achieve this in their own backyards is why we started Coastal Soil Solutions.
